Inauguration of "On-the-job training" course for girls participating in the project at the Vocational Education Center - Continuing Education Center of District 4

"Vocational Training Course for Girls" funded by the Canada Fund for Local Initiatives – Vietnam (CFLI) and the Social Development Training Center (SDTC) – Tôn Đức Thắng University.

On February 24, 2023, the Vocational Education Center - Continuing Education Center of District 4 officially inaugurated a short-term vocational training course on barista and baking, as part of the project "Sustainable social integration for girls at non-public social assistance facilities through the development of personal leadership skills in career based on strengths".

The class was very lively, the students were very excited to come to class, during the learning process, they were enthusiastic about asking questions and were answered immediately by the teachers. Learning must go hand in hand with practice, the students were able to practice right in the classroom while listening to the teachers' lectures and starting to practice. The cakes or glasses of water that you make by hand will certainly have shortcomings, because it is only the first day of class, but that is the effort and dedication you put in. On your face is excitement and pride in yourself when completing your work to the best of your ability.

In reality, there are thousands of girls in social assistance facilities in Vietnam. The gender and cultural differences also create many difficulties and challenges for children's lives. Learning a skill or finding opportunities for self-development is also too far-fetched. That is also the reason why the vocational training course is being held in particular and the project in general, so that it can help many girls increase their capacity and awareness of themselves, as well as have the opportunity to learn skills and work in the future to be able to develop sustainably.

Below are pictures capturing moments in the vocational classroom:
