1. WHAT IS HSK?

HSK stands for 汉语 水平 考试 (Hanyǔ shuǐpíng kǎoshì), which is a Chinese proficiency test, intended for people whose native language is not Chinese (including foreigners, overseas Chinese or even some ethnic minorities in China).

The Chinese Language Exam (HSK) is designed and developed by the Chinese Language Proficiency Test Center - Beijing Language University (北京 语言 大学). The HSK exam consists of three levels: elementary, intermediate and advanced.

HSK is held regularly in China and abroad every year. Participants in the HSK exam, after meeting the standards, will be issued a certificate corresponding to the Chinese language proficiency.

As of 2017, there are 860 HSK test scores in the world, including 530 overseas HSK test scores in 112 countries and 330 HSK test scores in China.

2. PURPOSE AND INTERESTED SUBJECTS HSK

Similar to the Chinese Language Proficiency Test (TOCFL) in Taiwan, the HSK certificate is the basis for universities and colleges in China to admit international students. HSK is also the basis for companies and organizations to recruit employees. So, if you are wishing to go to China for the purpose of studying or working, then you need to take the HSK exam to get the certificate required by the Chinese side (usually level 4 or level 5).

In addition, many Chinese businesses in Vietnam also require HSK certificates when recruiting employees, which is also one of the reasons why you should take the HSK exam.

3. EFFECT OF HSK CERTIFICATE

- As the basis and evidence to assess the actual Chinese proficiency to study abroad at universities in China, labor export, apply for jobs in Chinese companies.

- As a basis, proving the achieved Chinese proficiency and serving as a basis for exemptions from Chinese subjects with respective levels.

Similar to TOEIC, IELTS, TOEFL, etc. HSK certificates, valid for 2 years from the date of issue.
