Community project from SDTC sponsored by OXFAM organization

On April 29, 2019, the Secretariat of the Justice Initiative Facilitation Fund (JIFF) announced the project proposals selected for funding implementation in seeking help for initiatives to increase accessing to justice for vulnerable groups, involving women, children, ethnic minorities and the poor in Vietnam. The proposal of SDTC "The aid to access education and health services for migrant workers and their children in Ho Chi Minh City" was presented among 14 projects funded nationwide.

The JIFF Fund is one of two components of the EU Justice and Legal Empowerment programme in Vietnam (EU JULE), funded by the European Union and managed by the JIFF Secretariat, located at OXFAM. The goal of JIFF is to support organizations that are legally established and operated in accordance with Vietnamese law, have appropriate experience and activities recognized in the field of law to carry out activities supporting access to justice for Vietnamese citizens.

In the first round of petitions for judicial initiatives on the topic of gender equality and family, the JIFF Secretariat received 60 applications for funding from the JIFF with the aim of increasing access to justice for vulnerable groups, especially women, children, ethnic minorities and the poor in Vietnam.

After the Secretariat evaluated the validity of the applications, the JIFF's independent funding review committee assessed the quality of the initiatives and selected the best ones in order to submit to the Project Steering Committee. As a result, the Project Steering Committee approved 14 (fourteen) quality initiatives that were appropriate with the requirements of the JIFF for funding.
