6. TOPIK KOREA LEVELS
Since July 2014 (since the 35th exam), TOPIK is divided into 2 levels:

TOPIK I (level 1 and 2) is scored on a scale of 200, the time to take the test is 100 minutes, including 40 reading questions and 30 listening questions.

TOPIK II (level 3 and 6) is scored on a 300-point scale. Here, the number of questions has been reduced and specifically the vocabulary and grammar parts are removed. The reading and listening sections have 50 questions in 180 minutes. Only TOPIK II has the Writing section with 4 sentences: the first 2 sentences require to fill in phrases or sentences to match the meaning of the literature, the remaining 2 sentences are for writing short essays, expressing personal opinion. And the meaning must show the logic and use of Korean vocabulary and grammar well.

To achieve TOPIK Level 1, 3 or 5, you need to achieve an average score of over 50% and not lower than 40% on each test. In order to achieve a higher TOPIK, at level 2, 4, 6 you need to work harder to achieve an average score of over 70% and not less than 40% in each section. Like other certificates such as IELTS, TOEIC, etc. TOPIK is also valid for 2 years.
