1/Our history

In 2004, Ton Duc Thang University participated with Education for Development (EFD) non-governmental organization and founded a training project aiming to enhance social workers’ capacity, which is the precursor of Social Development Training Center (SDTC). The project ended at the end of 2008 but SDTC continued to train on capacity building as a service. Starting as part of an international project, SDTC has established independence, autonomy and expansion of training activities.

Since 2009, the SDTC's mission is no longer a separate capacity training for social workers, but aims to provide consistent and high-quality services in the field of training, education, support, consult, scientific research, technology transfer, implementation of projects ... for its partners, helping them to be more effective in their current and future work. With the accumulated experience and management skills, the SDTC's activities have since grown financially independent. In addition, SDTC has added a number of suitable contents and expanded the audience to students, students, cadres, civil servants, employees of educational institutions, agencies, businesses, government/non-governmental organizations both domestic and international, … from 2009 to the present.

2/Our function

SDTC has the function of educating, fostering, training and updating knowledge; scientific research, application research and technology transfer; workshop; implementation of projects; study abroad consultancy; introduce and organize internships, ...;

Along with said services, SDTC also provide activities such as: cultural exchange; carry out business and service activities; support for startups, ... for agencies, businesses, government/non-governmental organizations both domestic and international, …

We aim to provide our clients with the necessary skills and knowledge to help them improve their work capacity and develop their job sustainably. As a result, it contributes to building a civilized, prosperous, free and equal society.

4.1 Educating – Fostering – Training

- Educating, fostering, re-training, updating knowledge and grant certificate/diploma contents, courses, ... in fields according to the functions and tasks of the SDTC (science and technology, economics, social, technical, soft/professional skills, scientific research, foreign languages, information technology, law, ...)

- Organizing and cooperating with domestic and foreign units with functions to train, foster, re-train, update knowledge and issue diplomas/certificates in following fields:

+ Programs to improve the capacity and standard of professional titles for teachers and educational managers; training educational managers; training pedagogical skills for lecturers, teachers and officials of educational agencies according to the provisions of law, ...

4.2. Scientific research, applied research and technology transfer and services

- Organize academic activities and exchange of experiences, multicultural exchanges.

- Research, formulate, make policy and plan development strategies in the fields of economy, society, geography, environment, construction, engineering, …

4.3. Cooperate, organize activities

- Cooperating and associating with domestic and foreign units to carry out social activities and participate in training and retraining according to each career as required.

- Organizing workshop about learning experiences, scientific exchanges and technology transfer, ... with domestic / foreign individuals and organizations

4.4. Projects implementation

- Cooperating and deploying to receive domestic and foreign sponsored sources to execute domestic and international projects.

- Financing the projects according the capacity of the SDTC.

4.5 Carry out other functions and duties according to the SDTC Charter, Ton Duc Thang University Charter, the law and the tasks assigned by the competent authority.
